Increased female participation
An unintended but welcome result of our partnership has been the success of Just Play in increasing the number and percentage of female players participating in City of Sydney sporting competitions. We’ve demonstrated that by offering flexible registration options in letting people register as an individual or with a friend or two and then placing them in a team we’re breaking down barriers to increasing female participation.

Just Play
Partnership Summary
Partnering with Just Play makes it easy for the City of Sydney to accommodate individuals or small groups of people that previously couldn't be efficiently looked after. Administration staff can simply direct individuals to the Just Play website: justplay.com.au or Just Play mobile app to register.
From here Just Play transform interested individual players into fully formed social sporting teams. The use of technology to make the process of playing simple, efficient, and stress free for people who don’t have a whole team has been critical to the success of the partnership.
Once a whole team has been built the process of registering the team is completed by Just Play and the City of Sydney administration staff simply treat their team registration as they would any other team. Just Play manage the team throughout the season, with players able to use the Just Play mobile app to check game details, RSVP and get support from Just Play as needed.
This partnership began with the KGV Recreation Centre venue and has expanded to include Ultimo Community Centre and Perry Park Recreation Centre. Just Play helps to ensure as many people are playing at these venues as possible by making it easy for individuals to register and play in a social team. This partnership results in the City of Sydney and Just Play furthering their shared goal of having more participants and teams playing in social sport competitions.
Social Sport was our first ever partner. Together we’ve helped a lot of people play in 7 years.
